Regents’ Scholarships

The Utah legislature made some key changes to the Regents' Scholarship program starting for the graduating class of 2020.

Changes to Regents' Scholarship

The Utah legislature passed HB260 in the 2019 session, creating the new Utah Promise Scholarship program and altering the Regents’ Scholarship program. The changes to the scholarship requirements affect students graduating high school in 2020 or beyond. The Regents’ Scholarship can only be used at an eligible Utah college or university for up to 4 semesters. Eligible colleges and universities include those part of the Utah System of Higher Education and the Utah System of Technical Colleges. Since it is a private institution, BYU is no longer considered an eligible college or university for the Regents’ Scholarship under these new guidelines. More information about the changes can be found at Regents’ Scholarship through Utah Futures.
