Completing Enrollment Requirements for International Students

To obtain your Form I-20, you are required to submit the following documents to the BYU International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) website (iss.byu.edu).

Submit Admissions I-20 E-Form

In order to complete the required E-Form you need to do the following:

  • Pay the $4,000 USD international student deposit by following the instructions on the International Student Deposit page. The International Student Deposit policy may also provide helpful information.
  • Print the Affidavit of Support form and have your sponsor complete the form.
  • Provide the most recent copy of your and your sponsor’s (if applicable) bank statement(s).
  • Submit the Affidavit of Support form and bank statement(s) at iss.byu.edu. Navigate to the E-Forms section, log in with your BYU Net ID and password, then follow the instructions to submit the form and bank statements.

SEVIS Record

If you are transferring from another U.S. institution you will need to transfer your SEVIS record from your current institution to BYU.

Upon submission of your Initial Form I-20 E-Form Request to International Student and Scholar Services, an automatic request will be sent to your current school DSO (Designated School Official) asking for the school’s required information to create your Form I-20. The DSO will independently submit the E-Form to International Student and Scholar Services.

Once all enrollment requirements are completed, ISSS will prepare your Form I-20 and release your registration holds.

Please contact ISSS for further instructions: phone (801-422-2695) or email (iss@byu.edu)

ALL ENROLLMENT REQUIREMENTS MUST BE SUBMITTED BY THE FOLLOWING DEADLINES:
