Kim was born and raised in Orem, Utah. She served a mission in Montevideo, Uruguay and graduated with a B.A. in Anthropology from BYU. After graduation, she spent 21 years in Austin, Texas, raising her family.

She enjoys being outdoors, writing/arranging music, and traveling. Her adventures have included backpacking Machu Picchu, eating pizza in Rome, and touring the Sheik Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi (tell her where you've traveled when you meet her).

Kim values lifelong learning and believes every person possesses an inner wisdom endowed by God. Kim is fluent in Spanish and has earned certifications in Transformational Coaching and Nonviolent Communication.

As an empty nester, she shares her home with an elderly black Lab, a random assortment of instruments, full bookshelves, and a tuxedo cat affectionately known as "Mr. Snorty Pants."
