Admissions Outreach Administrator

Melissa is a born-and-raised Cougar, the daughter of a BYU professor and a two-time BYU graduate. She received her bachelor's degree at BYU with a double major in Communications and German Studies – where she was lucky enough to study abroad twice (Vienna & Berlin)! She was blessed to serve a mission in her father’s hometown of Seoul, Korea, and later worked in Cheongju, Korea as an English teacher. After these life-changing adventures, she returned to BYU to complete a master’s degree in Mass Communication, and later a PhD at Cornell University. She loves movies, television, and music, and found a way to make consuming them “homework” by specializing in entertainment media psychology.

As impressive as her TV binge-watching stamina is, she also loves being out in the wild with friends and family exploring everything this world has to offer - road tripping, hiking in the mountains, relaxing on the beach, camping in the desert, attending sporting events…she’s down for it all! Melissa is excited to be back at BYU helping students from all over the world enjoy the unique education and opportunities BYU has to offer.
