Sarah is a published author, TEDx speaker, and alumnus of BYU-Idaho and Utah State University. She earned my M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration. While completing her undergraduate studies, she started her first business and had her first child, proving to herself that she can do hard things!
She's been married for over 30 years, and they have three children. She's passionate about human flourishing, financial literacy, spending time with her family, reading, taking nature walks, and eating dark chocolate with chili peppers.
With extensive advisory experience spanning diverse sectors for 25+ years, she's cultivated an advising philosophy rooted in the Appreciative Advising Framework. Going beyond strategic planning, she prioritizes creating a secure space for students to embark on an empowering journey toward holistic growth. By leveraging individual strengths and past achievements, she fosters thriving across all areas of life. Engaging in conversations, active listening, anticipating setbacks, and intentional advocacy form the core of my approach, encouraging students to overcome challenges and embrace innovation. Balancing high expectations and accountability, she believes in guiding students while respecting their choices. Recent societal shifts have prompted me to enhance online engagement, strengthen community bonds, and emphasize self-care and whole-person health. This multifaceted approach aims to empower students to achieve their dreams and maximize their potential, reflecting her commitment to their success.
