Does BYU accept reverse transfer credit? I’ve almost finished the general education requirements at my school and now I’ve been accepted to BYU. Will I have to complete BYU’s generals?

Speak with a transfer counselor at your school to determine if they allow you to take BYU courses for certification or completion of an associate of arts or science. If so, BYU will accept their certificate or associate degree through an official transcript. An associate degree will fulfill your BYU General Education requirements, except for American Heritage, Advanced Written & Oral Communication, and Languages of Learning.

Since I’m a transfer student, I didn’t send my AP scores to BYU. Will you still accept them?

Yes! Send us an official scoresheet from CollegeBoard.org, and we will add the scores to your record.

Do I have to provide all of my transfer work, or can I choose what to send to BYU?

BYU’s Full-Disclosure Policy states that you must provide all college work earned at the time of admission as part of your permanent academic record.

Does BYU adjust any of my credits or grades?

We accept transfer credit as it appears on an official transcript. While we convert quarter hours to semester hours, and 'A+' grades are processed as 'A,' everything else should look exactly as it does on your former school’s transcript.

Can I repeat a class at BYU and have it replace a grade from my former school?

No. We will not adjust or make changes to another school’s transcript.
