VA Student Certification of Enrollment Request
Once you have received a COE, log into your BYU account and complete the Certification Request Form.
- Fill out the form on this website with the information from the COE.
- Click “Submit” when you are finished.
You will receive an email confirmation from the VA when your certification has been submitted to the VA. Benefits are generally sent shortly after classes begin, allowing for 4-6 weeks processing time by the VA.
Certification Policies
BYU will certify your enrollment to VA for each semester/term it is requested. Only classes that meet general education and major requirements can be certified, with two exceptions:
- The last semester before graduation, you may enroll in additional class(es) that are included within your program of education even though not required for the specific beneficiary to graduate. Such classes must be specified by name in the approved program curriculum, and not have been already completed.
- VA will allow substitutions if they are approved by the college and documented in your VA file.
