If you need to start classes a different semester or if you are returning earlier than anticipated, it is important to update your deferment.
If you will not be serving a mission at this time and did not begin the MTC, you can cancel your deferment.
- Check the box on your Mission Deferment to indicate that you did not enter the MTC.
- If you did serve, even for a short time, simply update your release date on your Mission Deferment and then, from the options provided, indicate the semester/term you intend to enroll at BYU.
- You'll also need to confirm that both your Honor Code Commitment and Ecclesiastical Endorsement are current. Each is valid for 12 months.
You can check the status and expiration of both in MyMap. If either is close to expiring, select the green button with the expiration date to begin the renewal process. - You will be expected to enroll at BYU if you are not currently serving a mission. Failure to return to school promptly may result in having to reapply for admission to BYU. For more information, contact Enrollment Services.
