If you need to start classes a different semester or returning earlier than anticipated, you will need to update your Mission Deferment Form.
If you need to start classes a different semester or if you are returning earlier than anticipated, it is important to update your deferment.
If you will not be serving a mission at this time and did not begin the MTC, you can cancel your deferment.
Check the box on your Mission Deferment to indicate that you did not enter the MTC.
If you did serve, even for a short time, simply update your release date on your Mission Deferment and then, from the options provided, indicate the semester/term you intend to enroll at BYU.
You will also need to commit to the Honor Code and update your Ecclesiastical Endorsement. When updating your Ecclesiastical Endorsement, you must select the endorsement option that indicates you are a BYU student on mission deferment. You can begin that process here.
You will be expected to enroll at BYU if you are not currently serving a mission. Failure to return to school promptly may result in having to reapply for admission to BYU. For more information, contact Enrollment Services.
