Cancel Your Mission Deferment
If you need to start classes a different semester or if you are returning earlier than anticipated, it is important to update your deferment.
If you will not be serving a mission at this time, you can simply cancel your deferment.
- Check the box on your Mission Deferment Form to indicate that you did not enter the MTC.
- If you did serve, even for a short time, update your release date on your Mission Deferment Form and then, from the options provided, indicate the semester or term that you intend to return to BYU.
- You will also need to commit to the Honor Code and update your Ecclesiastical Endorsement. You must select the endorsement option that says "Complete my Mission Deferment and Enroll at BYU." You can begin that process here.
