General Requirements
To qualify for federal grants and loans, you must meet certain general requirements.
Social Security Number
You must have a valid Social Security number. Please note that parents do not need a valid SSN in order for their student to submit a FAFSA.
Citizenship
You must be a U.S. citizen or an eligible non-citizen.
Selective Service
Males must be registered with Selective Service.
High School
You must have a high school diploma or a recognized equivalent (GED or by completing a homeschool program approved under state law).
Satisfactory Academic Progress
You must maintain SAP standards set by the school you are attending.
