Transfer Student Scholarships
Transfer students are not eligible for academic scholarships awarded by the Financial Aid Office upon initial entrance at BYU. However, transfer students can apply for academic scholarships as continuing students after completing at least one full enrollment (12 credit hours) at BYU by the appropriate Feb 1 application deadline. See the chart below.
There are a few need-based and departmental scholarships for which transfer students may receive consideration. To be considered, make sure you include your major on your admissions application. Also, for fall semester applicants, you must submit the scholarship application by the appropriate December 15th deadline and complete the FAFSA by the corresponding January 20th deadline. For winter applicants, the scholarship application is due by August 1st, and the FAFSA deadline is July 20th. If you are under the age of 30, you must also include your parents' information on the FAFSA, even if you are considered independent.
To explore additional scholarship opportunities, contact your college/department directly.
