Third-Party Requests (Request From the Public)

To protect student privacy under FERPA, we require a signed student release form. Attach the completed form during the ordering process, or use our request form and have the student sign it. Please note that Parchment's learner consent form is not acceptable.

You will be redirected to Parchment, our third-party transcript provider. There, you will choose your preferred delivery method and destination of the student’s BYU transcript. If you do not have a Parchment account, you will be prompted to create one. Please not that notarization can only be ordered by the student.

      • Paper Transcripts (Standard Shipping): Sent within one business day.
      • Paper Transcripts (FedEx Shipping): Sent same day if the order is received before 12pm (MST). Orders received after 12pm will be sent the next business day.
    • Before ordering, check your record summary to ensure any recently completed coursework and/or a degree has been posted to your official record.

    • We recommend ordering an electronic transcript or having it mailed. However, if you urgently need to pick up a transcript, visit B150 ASB (see campus map).

    • You can now send electronic transcripts directly to dozens of centralized application services (e.g. AMCAS, AADSAS, LSAC, etc.) by ordering an eTranscript. You will need to provide your specific transcript ID number when you place the order.

    • Order an eTranscript and have it sent to yourself. Save the PDF to your computer, then upload it with your graduate school application.

For more detailed instructions, visit the BYU Graduate Studies website.

    • If you are applying to another CES school (BYU-Idaho, BYU-Hawaii, or Ensign College), search "CES Admissions" when prompted to select your recipient.

Already a BYU-Idaho student and need your BYU credits sent there? Send an eTranscript to transcriptsubmit@byui.edu.

    • You can upload an attachment to be sent with your transcript when placing your order. If you need a verification letter from BYU to accompany your transcript, please request it beforehand through our online verification request page.

    • When ordering, select the “Paper Transcript – Notary” option. Our office will handle the notarization and mail the transcript to the address provided. Please note that there is an additional $5 fee for notarization, and processing will require an extra 1-2 business days.

    • An apostille is an international certification comparable to a notarization in domestic law, and supplements a notarization of the document.

To request an apostille, select the “Paper Transcript- Apostille” option when placing your order, attach the completed apostille request form, and list the state office as the recipient address (address is listed on the Apostille request form). Our office will notarize your transcript, attach the apostille form, and send both to the state office for apostille processing. For more information, visit authentications.utah.gov.

    • If you attended before 1979, your records may need to be digitized before an official transcript can be ordered.

An ecclesiastical endorsement is not required to order a transcript.

    • Paper transcripts are printed on official transcript security paper and mailed to the address you provide.

eTranscripts are delivered much faster and give you the option of saving the PDF.

      • If your transcript needs to go to a third party recipient (school, company, etc.), check first to see if they will accept electronic PDF copies. Also, be aware that many third parties prefer transcripts sent directly from BYU.
      • eTranscripts are delivered as a PDF, and are meant to be viewed electronically. Printed eTranscripts are considered unofficial and “Copy of Certified PDF” will be watermarked across them. Viewing electronic transcripts on mobile devices is not supported.
    • eTranscripts will be sent within 24 hours. Paper transcripts with standard shipping are sent within one business day. Paper transcripts shipped with FedEx are sent same day if the order is received before 12pm (MST), or the next business day if received after 12pm.
