Transfer Course Planning
Tools for transferring previous college credit, concurrent enrollment, AP, IB, etc. to BYU.
How will your credit credit fulfill requirements here?
Courses can potentially transfer in three ways:
- General Education Requirement – Equivalent to a BYU course, counting towards a general education requirement.
- Major Requirement – Equivalent to a BYU course, counting towards a major requirement according to the major advisement center.
- Elective Credit – Counts toward the 120 hours needed for graduation. This will happen when our office has been unable to make an equivalency at the GE or program levels. If you see a course listed as “elective credit” in the search tool, please contact your major advisement center to see if it may be used within your degree program.
