Transfer Course Planning
Tools for transferring previous college credit, concurrent enrollment, AP, IB, etc. to BYU.
We've done the hard work for you! If we've evaluated credits from your school in the past five years, you can use the BYU Equivalency Search to check if your course fulfills a BYU general education requirement.
Courses can potentially transfer in three ways:
- General Education Requirement – Equivalent to a BYU course and counts towards a general education requirement.
- Major Requirement – Equivalent to a BYU course and counts towards a major requirement as determined by the major advisement center.
- Elective Credit – Counts toward the 120 hours needed for graduation. If our office cannot make an equivalency at the GE or program levels, the course will be listed as “Elective Credit” in the search tool. Contact your major advisement center to see if it may be applied within your degree program.
Not finding your classes? Fill out a transfer evaluation request, and we will respond within 48 hours.
