I’m a new freshman, when can I register for Univ 101?

Spring or Summer 2024: You can register now for Univ 101 through MyMAP.

Fall 2024: You can add Univ 101 to your Fall 2024 schedule beginning Apr. 1. Don't add it to your cart, you will be able to add it without having to wait until Priority Registration in June.

Why can’t I add other classes to my cart for Fall?

You will be able to add other classes to your cart once you’ve registered for Univ 101.

I'm attending Spring/Summer, why can't I add classes?

You will be able to add other classes once you’ve registered for Univ 101.

I'm a freshman, why can't I add a Learning Community envelope with Univ 101?

Contact the Office of General Education at byu_foundations@byu.edu.

I've already taken Univ 101, why can't I add other classes?

You will not be able to add other classes until you've completed the Univ 101 class with a passing grade.

Why can’t I drop Univ 101?

You can't drop Univ 101 if you are required to take it. You are allowed to switch sections if it’s before the add/drop deadline. Switch sections simply by adding the new section you want first.
If you do not intend to enroll for your first semester, drop all other classes, from any open semesters, from your registration cart and/or schedule, then try again to drop Univ 101.
After the add/drop deadline if you want to withdraw and Univ 101 is your last class, you will be directed to the discontinuance process. If Univ 101 is not the last class left in your schedule, you will need to talk with the Office of General Education about withdrawing, email them at byu_foundations@byu.edu.

If you changed the semester you were initially admitted in order to begin in an earlier semester, and you try to drop Univ 101 from the semester you were initially admitted, you won’t be able to drop Univ 101 until it’s your last class across all semesters for which you are registered.

What if I will not be on campus during my first semester?
